The Fame Research Foundation's mission is to provide much needed data and funding for social scientists to study the public’s perception of, and engagement in, popular culture events and news.


the Fame RESEARCH FOUNDATION's mission is TO:

  • Assist in the development and funding of grants and fellowships for the research of popular culture news and events
  • Foster collaborative research and scholarly projects in the study and analysis of popular culture events and news
  • Facilitate the development and extension of new and existing projects that research popular culture events and news
  • Provide pathways for universities and research institutes to collaborate in the development of prediction market, and other large socially constructed, datasets for qualitative research
  • Develop effective pathways for international and diverse collaborative teams in the study of popular culture to gain research funding for their projects
  • Assist in the development and funding of scholarships for education in Popular Culture Studies and coterminous disciplines
  • Provide pathways for universities and research institutes to collaborate in the development of prediction markets, and other large internet-based social constructs, as teaching tools
  • Contribute to international public debates on the value and significance of Fame and Celebrity and their implications for contemporary culture
  • Expand under-represented areas of study in the social sciences
  • Support existing associations, institutions and publications that foster research into the study of popular culture events and news
